Children on the Edge Fundraising Month

Throughout October, staff and customers across our 6-stores and head office were encouraged to take part in a range of activities and challenges to raise much needed funds for our official charity partner, Children on the Edge. COTE works to restore the ingredients of a full childhood to forgotten children, living on the edge of their societies, and we have been fortunate enough to raise money for their great work for a number of years.

This year challenges cost £1 and we were overwhelmed with the number of people that wanted to get involved. As the dust settles on the month, we have now had the chance to count all the money raised and we are delighted to announce a record £2,137 was raised.

Montezuma’s Co-Founder, Helen Pattinson, commented: “Our charity challenge week for Children on the Edge is always one of the most popular weeks in the calendar. Each year we come together to develop new ideas, and this year the challenges were great fun. We introduced new ideas and we believe that our customers, and even our staff thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the fundraising process.”

The challenges included designing quirky chocolate bars, guessing how many buttons in the jar and quizzes, amongst other chocolate-themed games. At our HQ in Birdham the team raised hundreds of pounds by competing in our very own Chocolate Olympics, which included the unsurprisingly popular game, ‘who can eat a bag of chocolate buttons the fastest!’.

It means a great deal to us to be able to support Children on the Edge, so we are thrilled with the level of involvement and contribution from everyone. It goes without saying, but without our customers and staff, none of this would have been possible, so we want to say a massive thank you to everyone. Your support really does make a difference. Thank you.
