Easy Recipes for the Summer Holidays

Running out of things to do this school holiday? Don’t despair! Our kid friendly recipes are easy to make and are the perfect boredom buster! Get the aprons at the ready it’s time to make your very own chocolatey treats!

 

 

 

Chocolate Crispy Cakes (Makes 12)

Ingredients:

 

Method:

  1. Boil a kettle and half fill a pan with boiling water. Add all the chocolate, butter and golden syrup in a heatproof bowl and set it over the pan of simmering water for approximately 5 minutes. Keep stirring the mixture until it is fully melted and smooth.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the cereal until it is completely covered in the chocolate mixture.
  3. Use a spoon to scoop out the mixture into paper cake cases and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or until the chocolate has fully set.
  4. Remove from fridge and enjoy!

 

Chocolatey Popcorn Bars (Makes 10)

Ingredients:

 

Method:

  1. Boil a kettle and half fill a pan with boiling water. Add the chocolate to a heatproof bowl and set it over the pan of simmering water for about 5 minutes – keep stirring until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from the heat and then stir in the other ingredients until completely covered.
  3. Pour the mixture into a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Pat down with the back of the spoon and smooth out the mixture.
  4. Pop into the fridge for at least 2 hours or until completely set
  5. Cut into pieces and enjoy!
