Half Marathon in the October Sunshine

Half Marathon in the October Sunshine

On Sunday October 7th 2018 the seventh annual Children on the Edge Chichester Half Marathon raised a fantastic £21,000 for their work with vulnerable children around the world. Over 950 runners registered for the event and 730 crossed the finish line on a bright sunny morning as part of either the Half Marathon, Ten Miler or Team Relay.

The event is one of Children on the Edge’s key fundraising events throughout the year, sponsored by Store Property and Montezuma’s Chocolates.

Ben Wilkes, Executive Director at Children on the Edge said, “The sun was out for us this year, making that view from the Trundle better than ever. We’re hugely grateful to all our sponsors and especially to Store Property and Montezuma’s Chocolate who have been our event sponsors since the race’s inception. Our seventh Chi Half event was a day to remember, once again raising a great amount, a total that this year could build and run four schools for Rohingya refugee children in Bangladesh.”

A fantastic group of 25 runners also ran specifically for Children on the Edge as part of the Run for Refugees Team and raised over £4,000 for their work with refugee children in Bangladesh and Lebanon.
