Chocolate Honeycomb Recipe
We've teamed up with our friends at Hilltop to create a stunning summer recipe of chocolate honeycomb. Not only can you win our recipe bundle in our giveaway, we'd like to share with you how you can also cook up this tasty sweet treat!
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp water
- 200g caster sugar
- 100g Hilltop clear honey
- 1 tbsp bicarbonate of soda
- 100g of milk or dark Montezuma's chocolate buttons
Method:
- Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper, it doesn’t matter what shape but it will need to have raised sides
- Sieve your bicarbonate of soda into a small bowl ready for later
- Mix all of your ingredients, apart from the bicarbonate of soda, in a pan
- Mix on low heat, continually stirring until the sugar has fully dissolved
- Bring to the boil and swirl until there is an even amber colour
- Remove from the heat and quickly stir in the bicarbonate of soda. You will have to work fast and be careful to not overmix
- Immediately pour into your lined tray, making sure not to smooth down and knock out the air
- Leave to cool and set
- When fully cool you can smash up the honeycomb into chunks with your hands and dip pieces into your favourite melted chocolate
TIP: to make it vegan use Hilltop’s Agave Nectar instead of honey and Montezuma’s dark chocolate for dipping!
