Pear, Chocolate & Nut Crumble

Pear, Chocolate & Nut Crumble

Winter has officially arrived! After a beautiful Summer we’re really feeling the cold, so we’re going to need something to warm us up. Our latest recipe by SpamellaB is sure to do just that!

Ingredients:

  • 5 pears, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • 2-3 tablespoons orange or apple juice

For the crumble:

  • 100g gluten-free flour
  • 50g oats
  • 70g coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 75g dairy-free margarine
  • ½ bag Montezuma’s Peanut Butter Truffle Bites, chopped up
  • 50g walnut pieces

Get making!

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Place the pears in an ovenproof dish (about 20cm x 28cm) and mix in the sugar, cinnamon, cornflour and juice. Set aside.
  3. Mix together the flour, oats, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl then add the margarine. Use your fingertips to rub in the butter to form breadcrumbs. Stir in the Truffle pieces and walnuts.
  4. Scatter over the fruit to cover, ensuring a generous layer on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbling (you’ll want to cover with tin foil about 10 minutes in to prevent the nuts and chocolate from burning). Leave to stand for 5 minutes then dig in and enjoy!
