Chocolate Pancake Day Recipe

An extraordinary, chocolate twist on your pancake day recipe. Utilising our delicious chocolate buttons to create a unique spin on this classic dessert. This is the perfect treat to indulge with on Pancake Day.



  • 1 cup of milk 
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbs white sugar
  • 1tbs baking powder
  • 1/4 tbs salt
  • 2tbs butter, melted and cooled
  • 180g Montezuma's chocolate buttons (halved)
  • Fruit of your choosing




  1. Whisk your milk and egg together in a bowl until thoroughly combined.

  2. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a separate bowl.

  3. Stir in melted butter, then whisk in milk mixture until smooth. Fold in 90g of your halved chocolate buttons.

  4. Melt the remaining chocolate on your hob or microwave to drizzle at the end.
  5. Heat a small nonstick skillet over low heat. Pour about 1/3 cup batter into the hot skillet and cover with a lid. Cook pancake until browned on the bottom, about 3 minutes. Flip pancake, then cover and cook until browned on the other side, 2 to 3 minutes.

  6. Remove to a plate, drizzle your melted chocolate and add your chosen fruit to top.

  7. Repeat steps above to make remaining delicious pancakes!
